Design your own helmet!

May is here, and with that comes Road Safety Week. The theme for Road Safety Week this year is Be a road safety hero. This is an opportunity to recognise all those people who help to make our roads safer and who support people after a crash and explain how we can all play a part in making journeys safer for everyone. This is a national event that also coincides with the UN Global Road Safety Week which has the theme Streets for Life #RethinkMobility.

To encourage children to wear a helmet when cycling, skating, or scootering we are running a competition to design your own helmet. There are four age categories. The winner of each category will get their design painted onto a helmet by a professional artist.

Download the entry form here, or pop into one of the supporting stores to pick up a form. Missing Link Cycles, My Ride Whangarei, or Torpedo 7 Whangarei.

Entries close on 31st May 2023.

Check out the winning entries from Taupo here for some inspiration.
