Approximately 10 kilometers east of Whangarei off the Ngunguru Road is Glenbervie Forest. The car park is next to the Adventure Forest on Maruata Road. This is a commercial working forest so please look out for heavy vehicles and comply with all signage. The trails are primarily old school singletrack Grade 3-5, for riders of intermediate and above ability. The trails can be quite slippery when wet, and many tree roots create some technical challenges. The trails are spread over a wide area linked by forestry roads and often not signposted or marked. Visitors to the area would be best to get in touch with the local Whangarei Mountain Bike Club via Facebook, to enquire if there is someone who can show them around.
