Its Road Safety Week again this May 12-18th and we are joining up with many other organisations to promote awareness as to how we can all make our roads safer for everyone. We will once again be collaborating with our Northland Road Safety partners to put on some educational activities and public events. We are running our annual ‘Design a helmet‘ competition throughout May. The competition is open to all students in Te Tai Tokerau between the ages of 5 and 12. Local bike shops Northland eBikes, Time To and Hunter Cycles are all supporting the competition by donating the helmets for the winning designs.

We will be joinging school patrols teams around Whangarei before school to endorse good road safety behaviour with giveaways and recognition, and joining the Road Safety Hero Relay at the Town Basin in central Whangarei with students from six Whangarei Schools. There will also be Car Seat / Restraint checks during the week and radio campaigns. For more details follow us of Facebook and check out the Northland Road Safety Facebook page.
