Road Safety Week November 9-15th 2020

Road Safety Week is a community event held annually.  It’s your opportunity to get great publicity and attention for a road safety campaign run by you in your town, company, club, school, or kindy.

Whoever you are, wherever you live, help raise awareness of the terrible carnage on NZ roads by getting involved in Road Safety Week.

The theme this year is ‘Step up for safer streets’. Everyone and anyone can participate.

Here in Whangarei, the Town Basin bridges will all be lit up in yellow for the week. Emergency services and the Road Safety Team will be promoting the week with various activities and ideas around the district.

So find your yellowest clothes, create your message, and get promoting. There are lots of ideas on the Brake website.

Download the Footprint poster here and add your own safety message. Take a photo and upload it to the Northland Road Safety Facebook Page. If you like cycling make your message bike focussed, if you scooter or walk to school or work make you message focussed on getting there safely. This is your chance to get creative about street safety!
