Whangarei Primary School ready to ride

Whangarei Primary School is ready to make the most of its bikes this year. The School House Leaders have been through a training session learning how to complete a safety check before bringing the bikes out for students to use during the allocated sessions.

The team checked every bike and pumped up all the tyres, that’s nearly 100 tyres! Keeping your tyres well inflated helps reduce the chance of punctures and damage to the tubes and tyres.

What an amazing team of House Leaders the school has this year. The enthusiasm they showed and their problem-solving skills were fantastic. Not only were they learning how to check the bikes, but also planning the best way to store them in the containers. They had to consider a lot of different factors including the limited space, ease of access, and what size bikes would be required at the same time.

Their training also included how to correctly fit a helmet as they will be assisting the junior students too.
